Non-member Services

If you’re not a member, we’ll still provide you with towing service. All towing/service rates are based on the port-to-port running time of the towboat. Inclusive of all the time for travel of the towboat to your vessel, towing your vessel to its destination and the return travel time for the towboat back to the position from which it was dispatched. Full payment is due at the completion of the tow.

Assistance Towing Insurance

If you have assistance towing coverage with an insurance company or a towing club, you are still required to provide payment at the completion of the tow. The Sea Tow Captain will provide you with a detailed copy of the Towing Invoice, allowing you to apply to your provider for payment according to their reimbursement policy. Check your policy and make sure you have enough coverage. With a Sea Tow membership, if you use our services your rates won’t go up and we won’t cancel your membership.

Remember, Sea Tow members receive covered services at no charge!

It’s All a Part of the Boating Experience

The weather is perfect; the destination almost in sight, then something goes wrong. You’re broken down in the middle of the channel. If you’re lucky like me, you’ve got a Sea Tow membership and make that comforting call, assured that Sea Tow is on the way. Sea Tow arrives, hooks you up, and tows you where you need to go.

In our case that destination was Beacon Rock. The ride, for us, was relaxing and we took lots of pictures along the way. We were delivered safely to the dock where Captain Lyman finished the paperwork. Because we are members of Sea Tow, those wonderful words are printed clearly on the front of the invoice: “Members Towed for Free!!”

What could have been an unnerving event was just another experience on the water. Be prepared for the unexpected. Have the proper equipment on board: VHF radio, anchor, charts, PFDs, etc.

Do I recommend Sea Tow a membership? You bet I do! It’s one of the best investments we have ever made. I hope that my experience will help you be prepared for any situation on the water.
